Moroccan Baskets Care Guide

Is my Moroccan basket ethically made?

Our Moroccan baskets are hand-made by Moroccan artisan weavers. Our partnership with these skilled crafts people was established through the British Moroccan Society, a charity which helps forge commercial partnerships to promote development and cultural exchange between Morocco and the United Kingdom.

What is my Moroccan basket made from?

Your hand-made basket is woven using locally grown palm leaves and sisal. Cotton, leather and shells are used for decorative detailing and for functional elements such as edgings and handels.

Is my Moroccan basket eco-friendly?

All our baskets are made from natural, environmentally friendly materials. They can be used in place of less eco-friendly plastic bags or storage tubs.

What can I use my Moroccan basket for?

A Moroccan basket is the ultimate multitasking piece, the possible uses are endless. Here are just a few to get your imagination going; shopping basket, beach bag, hammam towel holder, toy tidy, magazine holder, shoe tidy, blanket holder, plant-pot cover or log caddy.

What should I do if my Moroccan basket becomes misshapen?

These robust baskets can be reshaped while damp. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Spray your basket with water or wipe it down with a damp cloth.
  • Stuff the basket with towels until you have created the desired shape.
  • Leave the basket to air dry away from direct heat.
